Simplify Feng Shui – Lesson 2

In this lesson I want to share how you can identify some positive and negative environmental features that could impact you. Its best if we can purchase property without negative features so you don’t have to put energy into fixing something that is broken. As it makes life easier to move into a home or office that is receiving positive energy and begin receiving it!

Since Environment is key, I want to help you be informed on some positive and negative environmental factors that could impact you.

POSITIVE ENVIRONMENTAL FEATURES around your home:

Mountains or hills, lakes and rivers, because Mountains and Rivers are the carrier of Qi/energy
Healthy mountains that are green lush and nourishing where you would like to have a picnic if you could. And during 1964-2043 the NW, West, NE and South are the 4 best locations to have mountains or hills
Calm and slow moving, clean water is best. And during 1964-2043 the East, SE, North and SW are the 4 best location to have water
Square shaped plats of land are best that include all 8 sectors of the compass directions of N, E, S, W, NE, SE, SW, NW

NEGATIVE ENVIRONMENTAL FEATURES you do not want surrounding your home:

Pylons, electric towers
Manholes
Drains
Highway with fast moving traffic
Nuclear Power plants
Cemetery, hospital, funeral home, prison or a place that deals with death illness or violence it’s best to be at least 2 miles away
Factory with a bad odor
Dumping site or wetland-earth is unstable below you

If you live in the city or a busy community you are bound to see one or more of the above negative features around you. The less negative features around you the better energy you experience. But there are usually ways to mitigate the negative environmental features once acknowledge. But they can be costly.

KEY: THERE ARE POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE FEATURES OF THE LAND AROUND YOU THAT CAN IMPACT YOU WITHIN YOUR HOME.

Are you ready for 2012?

February 4, 2012 officially begins the year of the DRAGON. Does your house face or sit SE? Is your entry door in the SE? Do you have a DRAGON or DOG in your BaZi/Birth chart? If you can answer yes to any of these questions you might want to get ready for the year of the REN CHEN-Water Dragon.

I have begun doing 2012 BaZi reports, Yearly calendars and Feng Shui consults to help clients prepare for the coming year!

As that is what Feng Shui does, it allows you to prepare for what is ahead, to receive the good and mitigate any negatives. It has worked for over 2000 years helping people around this world.

Bright Hall Clarity

Whether you enter in the front door, or garage door, the point of entry for you is called your “Bright Hall” or “Ming Tang”. This space as you enter inside the door and the area outside in front of the door helps collect Qi/energy in the area. Qi must settle and collect first before you can receive it.

Just like you cannot put money into the bank until you receive it from your job or as a gift. Qi is exactly the same. Your property needs to have a spacious area in front of your home to receive Qi, and inside of your door entry once the Qi is inside. Keep this area clean, free of clutter, calm and open. So you can RECEIVE!

I hear questions from family, friends and clients of confusion in what is actually Feng Shui? I am asked if Feng Shui is anti-religious, placing dragons in my house, having a red front door, or is it just about decorating a certain way? There are many Feng Shui books telling many different things. I am asked which one can help? Which version of Feng Shui can help us find balance? Are any of them true? I can honestly say from my personal life experiences, clients and family members that YES Classical Feng Shui gives clarity and solutions.

What is feng shui all about? Being at the right place, at the right time, with the right people, doing the right thing.

Feng Shui helps us understand the flow of energy and how to go with it instead of against it.

The flow of Energy (that the Chinese call Qi/chi) is the key! It is important for us to be connected with our property, and our property to be connected with the land around us, as the land around us connects with an energy source.

You have seen me observe the land around your home or office first, when doing a Feng Shui consult. This is done because it is important to find where the energy is coming from in the physical environment around you. Then my job is to manipulate the energy that is coming from the external environment to the internal environment you live or work in to benefit you.

Feng Shui is truly an environmental study. You do not have to have a belief in it for it to work for you. Its just making changes to attract the better energy.

KEY: ENERGY FLOWS TO LAND, LAND CONNECTS TO HOME, HOME CONNECTS TO YOU, YOU RECEIVE ENERGY!

Wanting a Water Fountain, Pool or Pond

I have been asked a lot lately about placement of water in homes and business locations. As water is the element that supports wealth and increase. Classical Feng Shui says if the water is placed in the wrong location it can do more harm than good. During this current Period 8, we like to see water in the N, SW, E or SE. But it totally depends on the land around you, if it supports water, and if the year energy likes water in that location also!

I recently went to Rome and was able to see and enjoy Trevi Fountain as you see in the photo’s above. If the outside and inside water features are not at least 2 feet deep and more than 3 feet wide then they do not support you. But when water is in the right location its very supportive!!!

October Shows To Be Humble!

The Dog month joins with the Rabbit year to make more Fire energy. If that supports you then you can enjoy this month. If not you still can enjoy this month if you remember to have more stability and truth which help to decrease some of the fire.

The Dog can bring more fighting and disagreements, especially if you have a Dragon in your BaZi chart.

Ego can get in the way this month, that is why its so important to be humble.

Lao Tze said the following about this months energy:

I have three treasures

That I guard and hold dear;

The first is love;

The second is contentment;

The third is humbleness,

Only the loving are courageous;

Only the content are magnanimous;

Only the humble are capable of commanding.

I hope you all enjoy contentment and balance this month of the Dog!

Feng Shui is only 33%

Hello! I just want to share a reminder that always proves true in the 6 years of studying and practicing Classical Feng Shui for myself and clients.

Feng Shui only constitutes 33% of the total equation for success, known as the “Earth Factor“. The next 33% comes from your “Heaven Factor” or BaZi (Birth chart) showing your strength’s and weaknesses from the day you were born and influences around you. The last 33% is extremely important, known as “Man Factor” your beliefs, actions and behavior choices and FREE WILL.

I learned through what I saw upon visiting Potala Palace, the mountains/landform surrounding it showed evidence of formation that creates emperors. And the Dalai Lama’s (14 of them) have shared a powerful presence in Tibet. The 14th current Dalai Lama, has shared peace and harmony all around the world. A note of history and BaZi is the year the current Dalai Lama fled Tibet from the Chinese invasion, was a year that clashed his BaZi/birth chart as well as the landforms showing the Chastity Star location clashed his BaZi also.

This shows all 3 working together, landform/earth luck, BaZi/heaven luck and the Dalai Lama’s free will/man luck, that chose to leave in that year and share kindness with a world instead of just Tibetan people.

Finding Your Home’s “Facing Direction”

Feng Shui calculations all begin with finding your home’s facing or sitting direction. You might think the facing direction of this home is the front side facing the road. But as you see in these photo’s the view from the porch is amazing at this Adirondack Lake home in upstate New York. The house shows the builder built this home to face this beautiful view especially with the porch stretching across the entire backside. This home is a great example of how to determine the facing direction of a home is not always the front side facing the road.

Are You And Your Environment In Balance?

Just a reminder the Chinese practice called “FENG SHUI” is about how the environment around us and our home and office receive and handle Qi/energy. We must adjust the Yin and Yang in our lives, but both must exist to achieve level one of balance. If your outside environment or inside of home or office are overflowing with too many objects, your life can be controlled by these objects and the flow is unbalanced. If you have nothing within your home and office, and there is nothing to use for sitting or sleeping or using for daily activities that is unbalanced as well.

Yin and Yang are opposites but both are central to Feng Shui as they are interdependent and exist because of each other. We naturally move between the two and toward extremes. But both must exist to achieve balance. Feng Shui within your space attempts to bring and stabilize the Qi/energy balance around you. Are you and your environment in balance today?
